MANILA, Philippines – Globe Business, the enterprise information and communications technology arm of Globe Telecom, in partnership with the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) urged business leaders and chief executives from the IT-BPM industry to maximize innovation and new technologies to achieve local and global competitiveness at the inaugural Globe IT-BPM CEO Forum.
Tapped to deliver the keynote message to over 40 CEOs in attendance was Globe President and Chief Executive Officer Ernest Cu. He discussed the collaboration Globe has with IBPAP in bolstering the IT-BPM Industry in the Philippines as well as the different challenges and solutions that Globe is addressing to improve internet and connectivity, which is a primary requirement of IT-BPM companies to operate.
“Globe and IBPAP have been working together for a number of years. It brings back fond memories considering I was one of the founding members of IBPAP, and I am most confident that our partnership is committed to pursue its aggressive mobile broadband coverage and capacity expansion programs in order to meet data traffic growth and increasing demand for connectivity.” said Cu.
Cu’s message was echoed by Mike Frausing, Globe Senior Advisor for Enterprise and IT-Enabled Services Group, who noted the importance of focusing on strategies that will help them maintain competitiveness. He mentioned that Globe Business has a ready response to the sector who are keen on realizing their goals.
“Globe Business commits to you, our valued partners and clients from the IT-BPM industry, through the IBPAP Roadmap 2022. I believe it is also crucial that you continue the trust and support that you have been giving us in enabling you to transform digitally. With the right technology, infrastructure, and know how, we believe that we can drive your passions and help you achieve future-ready operations,” Frausing said to the attendees.
The IBPAP Roadmap 2022 shows the state of the IT-BPM industry, globally and in the Philippines, and looks closely at the factors that contribute to growth and those that may inhibit it. It also details the different initiatives and strategies that the industry may need to undertake in order to achieve consistent growth.
The Globe Business IT-BPM CEO forum discussed various topics that would be helpful to the sector such as Building the Next Wave Business by Lamudi Philippines Chief Executive Officer and Founder Jacqueline Van Den Ende; Digital Transformation: Leading Innovation in the IT-BPM Sector by International Data Corporation Vice President of Consulting Operations for Asia Pacific Victor Lim; and A Focus on Workforce Transformation: The Globe Culture Journey by Globe Chief Human Resource Officer Ato Jiao.
Globe is also addressing the IT-BPM industry’s growing demand for connectivity by investing close to US$500 million over a five-year period beginning this year for the expansion of its corporate data network. The expansion is intended to support the increasing bandwidth requirements of Globe Business’ corporate and enterprise clients who are adopting new network technologies and solutions.
IT-BPM companies that are looking to maintain their competitive advantage are also relying on Globe Business’ set of advanced IT infrastructure and solutions such as Canvas, which converts paper-based processes to dynamic, feature-rich mobile apps, Globe Work Ready Seats, as well as Media Storage facilities that help BPOs secure large files for their customers to name a few.
