For Philippine Vice President Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo, VXI deserves commendation for two important endeavors – being a good employer and being a charitable corporate citizen, which are two qualities that define VXI Global Solutions’ employee value proposition Passion for People.

Speaking as Guest of Honor during the inauguration of VXI Clark, Robredo took the opportunity to commend VXI not just for giving Filipinos decent jobs but for being a good employer as well. Robredo pointed out that VXI’s growing success is important in the long-term sustainability of the IT-BPO/BPM industry and the Philippine economy. A total of 2,000 new jobs are now open for jobseekers looking to work at VXI Clark located at SM City Clark Tech Hub along M.A. Roxas Highway in Malabanias, Angeles City in Pampanga.

“I’m glad that VXI has not just provided jobs for many of our countrymen but has been a very good employer to most of them,” Robredo said. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary Ciriaco Lagunzad III, who was also present, seconded Robredo. “VXI’s investment in the Philippines will realize the aspiration of our job seekers to get secure employment opportunities. The remarkable fact that makes us happy is that 50% of your global workforce is in the Philippines.  We would like to thank you for helping the government give decent jobs to our people,” Lagunzad said.

Robredo also praised VXI for reaching out to provide help for the children of Marawi. ‘Rebuilding Marawi Through Education’ is an outreach initiative of VXI and My Dream in a Shoebox, in partnership with Football For Humanity, IBPAP, Team Asia and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. VXI will donate 12,000 shoeboxes filled with school supplies to conflict-stricken children in Marawi City to equip them in time for the first opening of classes after the siege.

“This was an affirmation that in spite of the rapid growth of the company you have not forgotten how to give back, and I think that is the most important thing. So thank you very much, VXI,” Robredo said.

VXI’s effort to reach out to people in need clearly struck a chord with Robredo, reflected by her message posted on her official Facebook page shortly after the inauguration concluded:

“It was an honor to be a part of the inauguration of the VXI Global Solutions site in Clark, Pampanga, and to witness the turnover of their donations to the Muslim community today. Bridging the gap between the government and the private sector is the core of our #AngatBuhay program, and I’m glad that VXI Global Solutions is going beyond the boundaries of their business by partnering with the public sector to contribute to the progress of our society and uplift the lives of many. Thank you for having me today, and we look forward to working with you in the future.”

In his speech, Executive Vice President and Country Manager Jared Morrison hailed the Filipino talent that has been the backbone of VXI’s success. “We put the Filipino talent in the world stage. This is what VXI is doing every single day. Filipino talents continue to outperform the talents in other countries where the same work is done. Filipinos are not cheaper. Filipinos are better. That is why this industry has been so successful here,” Morrison said.

Robredo, speaking in front of VXI employees and top executives including VP for Human Resources Jovy Llanes, VP for Talent Acquisition Debbie Santos, and VP for Operations Eppie Titong and Rex Arenas, also talked about the challenges the IT-BPO/BPM is currently facing, including the developing of artificial intelligence technology and the need to shift towards providing value-added services and making the necessary improvement to become “skills appropriate”.

In the Philippines, VXI is a leading employer brand and winner of the 2018 International ICT Awards – Best Employer of the Year, Best Contact Center & BPO Company of the Year, and Most Innovative Company of the Year. Commonly known for its Passion for People operating ethos, the company enjoys industry-leading employee satisfaction rates and have doubled in headcount in the last 3 years, currently employing more than 13,000 employees across 8 locations.
