Contact Center Association Supports Countryside Development

Recently, President Rodrigo Duterte issued Administrative Order 18 instructing the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to put a moratorium in approving applications for economic zones in Metro Manila. The same order places priority in approving applications for ecozones in rural areas.
The Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) sees this administrative order as being consistent with the intent of TRABAHO bill—being pushed by the government in congress—that encourages and incentivizes industries to invest in the countryside.
As an association representing an industry sector that benefits from fiscal incentives, CCAP, with it’s over one hundred member companies and over 850,000 employees, is supportive of moves to rationalize the incentive regime and make provincial locations attractive to investors.
CCAP is working closely with the Department of Finance (DOF) in providing industry inputs that will supplement the government’s investment framework in the TRABAHO Bill. This is particularly so in the area of countryside development. “CCAP has always been supportive of countryside development and we have seen success stories of CCAP member companies locating in the provinces, ” asserted Jojo Uligan, CCAP president.
To demonstrate CCAP’s support for countryside development, CCAP will be launching a partnership with the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP), which will mobilize its network of local councils nationwide in assisting provincial locations in promoting their localities to IT-BPM investors and locators. This partnership will be launched during CCAP’s annual conference, Contact Islands 2019, slated on July 24 to 25 in Mactan, Cebu.
