Beyond CSR and fulfilling its purpose.

This was the call of Generali Philippines to its people as it announced its official membership to The Human Safety Net (THSN), the global community of Generali to create better opportunities for people around the world.
The virtual event, held on February 23, 2021, marked Generali Philippines as the 23rd country to join the movement. The network includes Argentina, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam, among others. Bulgaria, which joined shortly before the Philippines, delivered a message of support, as a tradition to welcome the newest member to the THSN.

The Human Safety Net: People Helping People
Going beyond serving its clients, THSN is an expression of the heart of the Generali brand, to reach out to disadvantaged people and shape a better future for them.
“Where can Generali make a difference? Definitely through our daily work, but more importantly it is through helping vulnerable families and communities which need it. And through the Human Safety Net, the Generali community can act together for greater impact,” THSN Global Director, Emma Ursich, said to inspire the audience.

Founded in 2017, THSN works to transform the lives and communities of newborns, refugees, and families. Collaborating with 50 non-government organizations (NGOs), the THSN has implemented 25 programs to assist over 80,000 people all over the world. Of this number, 35,595 families are in Asia, comprising 45% of the global impact—and targeted to increase with the participation of Generali Philippines.

Generali Philippines and ChildFund
In partnership with ChildFund, Generali Philippines will focus on families, particularly parents with children in the developmental ages of 0-5 years old. The project will promote responsive and protective parenting through modules and activities on health and hygiene, play and interaction, early learning, and nutrition.

To strengthen the goals of THSN, the long-term alliance aims to encourage Generali employees to volunteer through the following tracks: Design, Facilitate, Immerse, and Share. To respond to the current situation, the partnership provides volunteer opportunities for online and on-ground activities.

“We recognize that we live in challenging times, and our shared resources are most needed. We hope you are inspired to volunteer and be an active part of The Human Safety Net, the global movement of people helping people,” Yves Carbonelle, THSN Head of Engagement and Communication, enthused the audience.

THSN: Beyond CSR for Generali Philippines
Generali Philippines is a premier insurance company, with the mission to provide accessible insurance solutions for Filipinos. Since 1999, it has worked towards becoming the lifetime partner to over 800,000 members to safeguard their life and health.
“We are going beyond doing charity work,” Reynaldo Centeno, President & Chief Executive Officer of Generali Philippines, said.

“We aspire to embed social value in our business, creating more meaningful and long-lasting impact in the community that we live in. Indeed, we believe we have the power to make a positive change in the lives of others,” he added.
