‘Thriving Together’: Teleperformance Philippines marches with empowering pride in 2024

Date:
June 27, 2024

From celebrating Pride Month to pioneering initiatives for deaf inclusion and gender equality, Teleperformance is committed to ensuring that every employee feels seen and heard.

Manila, Philippines, June 2024 — This year, Teleperformance Philippines was joined by over 2,000 of its employees in the Pride March areas throughout the country. Marching alongside hundreds of other organizations, TP’s participation in what was hailed as the “largest Pride March in the Philippines” in Quezon City last June 22, was a powerful statement of solidarity and support. Similar marches also took place in Cebu, Bacolod, and Davao, reflecting TP’s nationwide commitment to inclusivity.

“This is more than just a month of celebration. Teleperformance Philippines is always committed to its DE&I initiatives,” said Teleperformance Philippines Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly. “Our yearly participation is a bold declaration that everyone at TP is free to be their most authentic selves. We’re greatly proud to stand with our LGBTQIA+ employees.”

Supporting and Empowering LGBTQIA+ Employees

Teleperformance Philippines’ commitment to fostering a safe space for all employees nationwide is reflected in the results of the Great Place to Work® survey for the 2023 recertification of the organization. The survey is completely voluntary and anonymous for all employees and independently run by the Great Place to Work® Institute.

Since being certified in 2018, Teleperformance Philippines has consistently scored high in statements like “this is a physically safe place to work,” “people here are treated regardless of gender,” and “people here are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation.

Additionally, gender identity groups with the highest trust index (TI) rating for the organization include transwomen, transmen, and non-binary employees from different sites nationwide.

“We want our LGBTQIA+ employees to feel not just accepted, but celebrated,” shared Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson. “Creating a safe and inclusive space for all our employees is a continuous journey.”

Inclusive programs and initiatives, such as the TP Pride Town Hall and Virtual Kwentuhan: Queerversations sessions, held throughout the year, also offer a platform for open discussions on various issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.

These sessions, along with the inclusive HMO policy, which benefits all of Teleperformance Philippines’ employees and their partners regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, and background; and confidential HIV screenings provided in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Project Red Ribbon Care Management Foundation, reinforce TP’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive environment.

A Great Place to Work

Recently named as seventh of the Philippines Best Workplaces™, the company’s recognition is a testament to its efforts in creating a positive work environment. This, coupled with its consistent Great Place to Work® certification since 2018, makes TP the only organization in the Philippines to achieve such an honor.

“At TP, we believe that everyone should feel they belong, no matter who they are or who they love,” said Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly. “Our journey towards inclusivity is ongoing, and we are excited to continue making strides together.”

TP’s commitment to diversity is not only celebrated during Pride Month. In addition to its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, TP Philippines also formalized a groundbreaking partnership early this year with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (DLS-CSB SDEAS) to advance deaf inclusion. The initiative involves training Deaf interns and providing them with the necessary tools to empower them into their workforce integration.

Early this year, the organization proved its commitment towards gender equality by endorsing the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact. At TP Women’s Leadership Summit, TP Philippines’ senior leadership publicly signed a commitment to these principles.

As Teleperformance Philippines looks to the future, its dedication to creating a culture of acceptance and empowerment remains steadfast. From celebrating Pride Month to pioneering initiatives for deaf inclusion and gender equality, the organization is committed to ensuring that every employee feels seen and heard.
