MicroSourcing and Beepo join National Book Store Foundation and NBS College launches Project Banaag, a three‑pillar push on literacy, technology, and pathways to opportunity

On August 26, 2025, MicroSourcing and Beepo formalized a partnership with National Book Store Foundation and National Book Store College to launch Project Banaag (Tagalog for “light of dawn), a recalibrated take on their six-year back‑to‑school tradition built around what young learners need most now.
The initiative is both familiar and markedly new. Like many “Balik‑Eskwela” efforts, it delivers books and supplies. But it pairs that with computer labs, digital workshops, and early exposure to real‑world work, an attempt to address three stubborn barriers at once: reading, access to technology, and the opaque bridge from school to opportunity. The pilot will begin in six schools, spanning urban, rural, and underserved communities, focused on Grades 1 to 3, where early interventions often have outsize impact.
A blueprint in three parts
MicroSourcing and Beepo mapped the pillars that will define the program’s first year.
- EduCare places reading and comprehension at the center of classroom life, distributing leveled readers and decodable texts, supporting teachers with training, and building Reading Hubs that make practice routine rather than remedial.
- EduTech attempts to narrow the digital divide by installing connected computer labs and onboarding both students and teachers to essential tools through workshops and curated platforms.
- EduLink brings the world of work closer, pairing professionals from MicroSourcing and Beepo with learners for mentoring and running career exposure sessions. A pathway with National Book Store College will give qualified students a line of sight to internships and preparatory programs as they advance.
Executives from the partner organizations framed the effort as equal parts education and equity: strengthen early literacy to lift performance across subjects; normalize technology so it becomes fluency; and make futures visible early enough that children can imagine themselves in them.

A formal start, a long runway
The morning’s program moved from welcome to keynote, then to pens on paper. Two Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) were signed, one with National Book Store Foundation for the literacy track, another with National Book Store College for EduLink, punctuated by handshakes and a cluster of quick photos.
MicroSourcing and Beepo ESG team described a near‑term sequence: teacher training and the first Reading Hubs; lab installations and connectivity checks; digital skills sessions staged in waves; and the initial cohort of mentors, drawn from employee volunteers, matched with schools. Books, bandwidth, and guidance braided together to create momentum.

What success might look like
If Project Banaag meets its own measures, schools in the pilot will report stronger reading fluency and comprehension, more confident use of digital tools by students and teachers, and a growing sense among families that education is a bridge. For their clients and the country, it is also a statement about the talent pipeline: that world‑class capability begins with early, consistent support and that the path to global work can start in a Grade 3 classroom with a new book, digital learning tools, and a mentor who support and show up.
The dawn metaphor is easy to reach for. What comes after, the work MicroSourcing and Beepo put in, is harder, slower, and less photogenic. Over time, the evidence of their work will live in report cards, attendance sheets, a path to a first internship that feels attainable.
