Capital One Philippines continues to invest in community development, as part of its efforts to elevate the future workforce through initiatives focused on education, health and safety, and financial literacy. The organization recently mobilized critical disaster relief alongside its long-standing academic programs, demonstrating a commitment to corporate social responsibility that extends far beyond the workplace.
Mayon Volcano Disaster Relief and Clean Water Access

Following the eruption of Mayon Volcano in Albay, Capital One Philippines partnered with Planet Water Foundation to provide critical clean water access to heavily affected areas. The eruption caused widespread disruption and severe ashfall, contaminating local water sources for approximately 280,000 people and forcing thousands to flee to temporary evacuation centers.
To deliver immediate relief, an AquaBlock Emergency Water System was installed at Tandarora Community Center in Guinobatan, Albay. This system can produce 700 liters of potable water per hour to support up to 6,000 people.
Meanwhile, a total of 300 AquaSafe Water Filter & Hygiene Station systems were distributed across families in the evacuation center in Bariw Elementary School in Camalig, the remote community of Tandarora in Guinobatan and the Mi-isi farming community in Daraga, with each system delivering safe water alongside integrated handwashing stations.
Championing Local Education

In recognition of its sustained commitment to youth empowerment, Capital One Philippines was honored as one of the Most Outstanding Stakeholders by the Department of Education–Cavite for its water tower donations and hygiene education initiatives together with Planet Water Foundation. The company also received the Busilak Award from the Department of Education–Laguna for its outstanding contributions and support for local learners, which include providing mental and financial wellness workshops and sponsoring the repair of school water towers to ensure continued access to clean and safe drinking water.
To date, Capital One Philippines’ educational initiatives supported five schools in Laguna benefiting a total of 3,000 beneficiaries with school supplies, hygiene kits, water tower repairs, and wellness workshops. Simultaneously, the Cavite deployment reached 21 schools and over 24,000 beneficiaries, focusing on clean water infrastructure and hygiene education.
“We are committed to rolling out programs that secure clean water and champion education,” said Raoul Teh, Head of Country at Capital One Philippines. “Our hope is to see every student and community gain access to healthier lives, better opportunities for learning, and the supportive environment they need to succeed.”
This community-focused work reflects the same culture that has earned the organization industry acclaim. Capital One Philippines was recently named the #2 Best Workplaces in the Philippines, recognized as the #2 Best Workplaces in the IT-BPM industry, included in Asia’s Best Workplaces list, and marked its fourth consecutive Great Place to Work® certification.
