Alorica local work force reaching 40,000

To cope with its expanding business, Alorica, the largest customer experience provider serving the US market and third largest in the world, recently added 8,000 more Filipino workers to the 30,500 manning its 17 sites across the archipelago.

Globally, the Irvine, California-based company employs over 92,000 people, providing services ranging from acquisition and sales to customer care and back office support in 147 locations across 16 countries.

Its clients include those in the communications sector, financial services, healthcare, retail and technology and many are in the Fortune 500.

“We’re growing at a phenomenal pace,” confirmed Alorica Asia President Bong Borja. “And since we’re in the people-to-people business, we need to hire thousands of people to create great customer experiences.”

Full-time customer engagement experts account for the bulk of the new hires but Alorica is also taking in supervisors, quality assurance managers, facilities coordinators, Human Resources and Information Technology (IT) professionals.

To date, Alorica operates 12 customer engagement centers in the National Capital Region and five in Clark, Lipa, Cebu, Laoag, and Davao.

“Whether interacting with customers on the phone, online or on social media, people are the cornerstone of our success,” he explained.

“We hire people who like serving others and invest in their training to ensure they’re set up for success. It’s no surprise that 70 percent of our supervisors, managers and directors started at Alorica on the front lines.”

Each Alorica office appoints “culture champions” who drive employee engagement. The champions organize fun daily and weekly activities on site, manage annual family-friendly events and coordinate volunteer work at local non-profit organizations.
