Philippines who confidently exudes the important role of women in the workforce

Manila, Philippines—March 22, 2017 – Teleperformance, the world’s leading provider of outsourced omnichannel customer experience management services, pays tribute to its women employees in observance of the National Women’s Month this March.

Former President Corazon Aquino, the country’s first female head of state, declared March as women’s month, officially known as “Women’s Role in History Month” through Proclamation No. 227 which she signed on March 17, 1988.

Teleperformance is one of the biggest employers in the Philippines with more than 39,000 employees. About 56% of the workforce or around 21,800 employees are women. As an organization that strongly supports gender equality in the workplace, Teleperformance empowers the female workforce through equal career development opportunities and by increasing their participation in leading the company to continuous business growth.

In celebration of the important role that women play in the organization, Teleperformance shares the stories of four unique women who have shown the essence of being a woman through strength, confidence and passion for excellent service.

The Joy of Service

Being a pioneer employee of Teleperformance Philippines, Jocelyn Torres, “Joy” to friends and colleagues, attests to how the company has continuously empowered her and her female colleagues with opportunities for learning and career growth.

“There’s equal opportunity for all. Teleperformance supports and empowers its people regardless of gender, color, or educational attainment,” she shares. Joy’s 20-year tenure speaks not only of her commitment to her profession, but her loyalty to the company that never ceases to validate her contributions.

The Dynamic Dynah

Physical disabilities did not stop Customer Service Representative Dynah Yanez from realizing her potential to achieve professional success. Today she feels empowered at Teleperformance and has become an inspiration to her colleagues. “I am proof that the company acknowledges and values its employees – more so, female employees. My hard work never went unnoticed,” says Dynah.

The Cinderella Story

Starting out as a food concessionaire and security officer for the company, Subject Matter Expert Melanie Biagtan proved there is no barrier great enough for her, or any one – woman or man – to overcome. Teleperformance saw beyond her background, what others may perceive as limitations, and earnestly paved the way for Melanie’s career dreams to come true.

The Confidently Beautiful

An empowered woman pursues her passion without hesitation, just like Marina Joyce Reyes. Her merit as an agent working with Japanese clients is only equaled by her success as a ramp and image model. “It makes me happy to see that anyone can grow in this company as long as they have the skills and the right attitude to become better versions of themselves,” Marina says, knowing that Teleperformance is proud of her accomplishments, both at work and on the ramp.

Joy, Dynah, Melanie and Marina are just among the thousands of women at Teleperformance Philippines who confidently portray the important role that women play in the company.

Being an Equal Opportunity Employer, Teleperformance is committed to upholding women’s rights by implementing policies that foster growth prospects and nurturing environments for women. Such policies include providing special leave benefits for women undergoing gynecological surgery or child delivery and by providing breastfeeding facilities and lactation breaks for nursing mothers in all of its 18 business sites in the country.
