Benedict Hernandez has overall responsibility for the delivery of Accenture Intelligent Operations in the Philippines to top clients worldwide. Accenture Intelligent Operations drives transformation and delivers business outcomes through infrastructure, security, cloud and business process services (BPS). These include industry-specific BPS, notably, health administration and care management, network services, utilities, as well as cross-industry BPS, such as finance and accounting, human resources and customer contact services.

Benedict is a recognized industry leader and pioneer. He has served as President & CEO of the IT-Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and currently is its Chairman of the Board Executive Committee. He is also the President of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), of which he is a founding board member. Through these industry engagements, Benedict helps drive multi–sector efforts to continue growing the country’s IT and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) economy, including industry roadmap development, talent development programs, policy advocacy, and country brand promotion.

His IT-BPM career began at eTelecare Global Solutions, the country’s pioneering international contact center, to which he was appointed general manager in 2000. He helped grow eTelecare to a USD300–million operation with over 10,000 employees. In recognition of his contributions to the industry and community, Benedict was awarded as one of the country’s Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) for business leadership, in 2006,and awarded the ICT Champion Award by the Department of Trade & Industry, in 2008. Prior to IT-BPM, Benedict spent seven years in the telecommunications industry, setting up and building the customer care operations of Nextel Communications Philippines Inc., where he served as VP for Customer Care, and Smart Communications, Inc., where he last served as Customer Care Manager.

Benedict has a BA degree in Psychology from the University ofthe Philippines. He kicked off his professional career as a Psychology instructor in the same university. A Ph.D. candidate in Social Psychology, the UP honored him as its most outstanding graduate student in 1993.
